Karen Landmann is a highly experienced multilingual focus group moderator and in-depth interviewer. Projects she hs worked on range from dyads and triads in Russian on Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), mini-groups, also in Russian, on the "Affordable ae Act" ("Obamacare"), electronic health records (in Russian) for the U.S. Government, and focus groups on emergency preparedness in Spanish. She has traveled throughout the United States to complete these assignments. In addition, she has conducted detailed technical research in Portuguese for Brazilian energy companies and exploring in detal medical surveys in one-to-one interviews for patients with HIV/AIDS.
Karen is fluent in Spanish, Russian, French, German, Portuguese, Dutch, and bears a working knowledge of Swedish. She has lived and travelled worldwide and specializes in cultural sensitivity. She has worked with individuals with varying command of the English language, some in their native tongue, some by simply exploring expession in order to understand these individuals' viewpoints. With an M.S.W. (Master in Social Work) from Columbia University, Karen is sensitive to the emotional climate of her respondents. She has an unuual ability to connect and gain trsust and create tan idal climate for honest responses.
Karen specializes in healthcare for respondents of all ages. Currently a child therapist at Postgraduate Center for Mental Health, she explores medical and psychological issues. With vast experience in hospitals, clinics, and community-based organizations in areas such as pediatric oncology,HIV/AIDS, aging, and heart disease, among other illnesses. At Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center (CPMC) she was exposed to a wide variety of infirmities.
Ms. Landmann is a widely-published author and conference presenter (including keynote speeches at national conferences). An expert and concise writer, she produces reports of great quality. She is apt and adept and adapts to any circumstance.
